Skill Set – Project Management, Public Relations and Marketing

The Purpose – Project management for a three-day national legislative conference for the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL).

The Challenge – Due to Hurricane Katrina, the event was forced to relocate from New Orleans, Louisiana to Portland, Oregon, creating a last minute emergency-crisis, and need for the reorganization of the conference from concept to inception.

Key Deliverable – Event reorganization and logistics included; coordinating speakers, obtaining sponsorship, arranging meeting location, hotel accommodations, meals, registration, creation of printed materials, securing audio-visual equipment and working with a volunteer committee.

Measurement of Success – Produced in less than three months a seamlessly organized conference with over 1,000 attendees. Event attendance far surpassed organizers’ expectations.

Recommendation – “Kayla Victor is an extremely effective and efficient project manager. She produced consistent results, which contributed to the success of the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL) ability to meet their mission and serve the community. Because of her organizational strategies she can see the big picture while executing the smallest of details. I have recommended her successful project management services to friends and colleagues and will continue to do so.”
