The Challenge – State Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee threatened to cut state funding for mental health drugs.
Key Deliverable – Educating key stakeholders on need for open access to mental health medications for Medicare and Medicaid patients. Increasing communication among stakeholder groups.
Measurement of Success – Increased awareness on policy issues throughout the state with advocacy groups, state legislators and key stakeholders. Engaged key stakeholder groups to testify at State Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings and to write advocacy letters to state legislators. Mental health drugs were saved from state budget cuts.
